November – the month where residents join together to take part in a goal of completing 30 minutes of exercise for 30 consecutive days, ranging from group classes, to running and even cycling. With a month long calendar of free workouts events to join in, exciting fitness events and wellness-centric entertainment, there is always plenty of inspiration to keep moving. For some this has been life changing, and the Challenge has created a pathway to a better understanding of health and wellbeing – helping to transform the lives of some of the residents and shape them to lead a better healthier lifestyle.
The challenge that is the brainchild of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. Showed his commitment by leading the worlds largest fun run, which had a staggering 193,000 participants, stated ”Together, as a community, the people of Dubai have created an inspirational fitness movement, sending a powerful message that traveled far beyond our city. This event is a demonstration of the Emirate’s spirit of determination and the power of the community to inspire change. Together, let us transform Dubai into the fittest city in the world.”
Although the Dubai 30×30 fitness challenge has come to an end for another year, that doesn’t mean the residents of Dubai have to stop there. With so much choice from Fitness clubs, classes, swimming, running trails, cycling and training in the outdoor gyms in Dubai’s parks there is something for everyone to keep fit and healthy. With this we truly believe that Dubai is leading the way to become the fittest city in the world.
