We’re just over a week away from the start of the sixth annual edition of the Dubai 30×30 Fitness Challenge (DFC), which means pretty soon residents will be jogging, cycling and speedwalking their way around the city for 30 days.
Dubai 30×30 Fitness Challenge
Registration is now open for Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s flagship event, which has been brought in to make Dubai a fitter, cleaner, and healthier place.
By signing up through DFC’s website, locals will be committing to completing a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise per day, joining thousands of others in the “world’s largest citywide fitness movement”.
They’ll also be kept in the loop with everything the event has to offer, including exclusive events, free classes, all manner of activities, offers on top fitness brands, and chances to win prizes.
If you’re not sure where to start, the ‘Find Your 30’ section of the DFC website features workout programmes, health and fitness vlogs, nutritious recipes, podcasts, virtual classes, articles about keeping fit, and more.
In the meantime, we’ll run you through some of the main highlights of this year’s challenge.
Dubai Ride and Dubai Run
These two iconic events have been integral in the success of the DFC. Dubai Ride, one of DFC’s flagship events, will take place on November 6, offering families the chance to saddle up and ride past Dubai’s iconic landmarks on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Sheikh Zayed Road will then play host to scores of runners on November 20 as families, aspiring runners and professionals take on the world’s largest free fun run. 2021 saw record numbers of participants turn out for these two events, with 33,000 cyclists taking part in Dubai Ride, and 146,000 runners, joggers and walkers joining Dubai Run.
30 Events In 30 Days
If running or cycling isn’t for you then there are plenty of other sports for you to get stuck into. The two fitness villages – Kite Beach and Last Exit Al Khawaneej – will host football, tennis, padel tennis, and cricket. 20 more sports and fitness zones and 15 hubs will also offer everything from HIIT training and yoga to cycling and watersports in hope of helping participants hit their daily goals.
What’s more, over 50 sporting events will keep spectators entertained across the month, including the World Padel Championships Dubai 2022, the final of the Legends Team Cup, DP World Tour Championship, Under Armour Turf Games, and Dubai Sail Grand Prix. If that lot doesn’t keep you inspired, we don’t know what will!
