DY Nutrition has announced the rollout of new “advanced, multi-layered” security measures in response to a growing wave of counterfeit products on the market.
Founded by six-time Mr. Olympia champion Dorian Yates, the supplement company first raised concerns last year after discovering a fake protein powder circulating under its brand name.
Shockingly, the black-market version carried the same LOT number as a legitimate DY Nutrition batch. As a result, Yates ordered the precautionary destruction of affected stock to protect customers.
Lab tests showed the imitation formula wasn’t toxic but contained higher levels of carbohydrates along with creatine — an ingredient absent from DY Nutrition’s official recipe.
Addressing the issue in a new statement, Yates’ team emphasised: “Your safety is our absolute priority.
“Unfortunately, we have been facing a surge of counterfeit products from different parts of the world.

“To protect you, we are currently in the process of implementing advanced, multi-layered security features on all our labels.
“This will allow you to instantly verify the authenticity of your product and access quality control documents by simply scanning a QR code.
“As this is a significant update, the implementation will take some time to be rolled out across our entire product range. We appreciate your understanding during this transition.
“We believe that when you choose our supplements, you must have complete certainty about what you are taking.
“Protecting that trust is vital to us, as we continue to prioritise your health and safety above all else.
“Thank you for your patience and loyalty as we take these necessary steps to safeguard your health and protect our brand integrity.”
DY Nutrition Identifies Unauthorised Distributor Pars Nutrition
Back in October 2024, the brand first revealed its plan to add QR code verification to packaging. Since then, it has gone further, warning consumers about Pars Nutrition — an unauthorised distributor seemingly operating out of the Middle East.

Customers were urged to watch out for red flags such as incorrect flavour labels or mismatched addresses on packaging, both of which could point to potentially harmful fakes.
Dorian Yates: “The Shadow” Behind DY Nutrition
Hailing from the West Midlands, Dorian Yates is one of only four men to retire as reigning Mr. Olympia.
Winning the title six times in a row between 1992 and 1997, he earned the nickname “The Shadow” for his habit of appearing unexpectedly at competitions before dominating them.
Known as a pioneer of modern bodybuilding, Yates brought unmatched size and conditioning to the stage. After years of working with different supplement companies, he went on to create DY Nutrition.
Among the brand’s top sellers are the Blood & Guts Pre-Workout and the Whey Complex Tempro — a four-protein blend enhanced with digestive enzymes for maximum absorption.
Today, DY Nutrition is available across six continents, with strong markets in Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. The company also maintains a particularly loyal fanbase throughout the Middle East.
