Dubai is gearing up to host its first-ever Premier Padel tournament, as the sport continues its meteoric rise in the Middle East.
The trending racket sport is one of the fastest growing in the world and has become a firm favourite with the city’s residents, surpassing even Tennis in participation rates.
Dubai’s First Premier Padel P1 Tournament
As part of its 24-stop world tour, Premier Padel will be landing in Dubai from November 4-10 amid a frenzied buzz.
The event marks crunch time in the Padel circuit, as professionals from across the globe look to push themselves up the standings in a bid to reach the Barcelona Premier Padel Finals in December.
Since Qatar Sports Investment acquired the World Padel Tour earlier this year, the sport has gone from strength to strength in the Middle East, and indeed across the globe.
A clip recently went viral of rapper Stormzy taking on viral sensation Niko Omilana and Padel star Nikhil Mohindra, who posed as a mystery guest.
Even former Chelsea and England legend John Terry has picked up a racket and tried his hand at the ever-growing sport.
Sandwiched between events in Egypt and Kuwait, Dubai will welcome Premier Padel P1 action to the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium, which is the second highest-ranked tournament in global paddle.
Qualification rounds are scheduled to start on November 3, with the final taking place at 5pm on November 10. The entire event will be streamed exclusively on Red Bull TV.
