Rory Mcllroy looks as hungry as ever as he prepares for the grand finale of the DP World Golf Tour in Dubai. Footage posted by the Tour’s official Instagram account earlier this year revealed just how hard the Northern Irishman trains to remain on top of his game.
After smashing through some deadlifts he moved straight into box jumps in what looked to be a leg-shredding superset. November 17 will see the top 60 European Tour players compete in the final event of the Race to Dubai at the DP World Tour Championship. The grand finale will play out at the City of Gold’s Jumeirah Golf Estates – an Eden across 1,119 hectares of lush green landscape.
Mcllroy has had varying success in Abu Dhabi. While he’s won four titles in the Middle East, the legendary pro bogeyed three of his last four holes at the course in November last year. He looked incensed as Collin Morikawa went on to become the first American to win the Race to Dubai, eventually completing a three-shot win.
Mcllroy has just finished competing in the BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club. Looking in great shape, he birdied his last three holes to finish in a share of eighth.
