Introducing The New GymNation Strongman Class: Where Even Billboards Need a Spotter
GymNation continues to push the envelope with its marketing efforts. The Middle East’s largest gym chain has been on a roll with several eye-catching and innovative displays over the past few months.
As temperatures soared in Dubai during the summer, the People’s Gym introduced some chill with the city’s ‘coolest class’, featuring ice-packed weighted vests, giant fans, and more.
Then, on World Mental Health Day, it removed all of its weights as a powerful metaphor for lifting the weight off its members’ minds.
Its latest stunt involved more lifting and shifting, though this time on a much larger scale.
The 24-hour chain has unveiled what it claims is the world’s heaviest permanent billboard to celebrate the launch of its new GymNation Strongman Class.
The colossal one-tonne advertisement is constructed from forty individual weight plates joined together.

Such is its sheer mass that the installation even has perimeter tape around it in case it topples over.
According to GymNation’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rory McEntee, the sign, which reads “THE ONLY BILLBOARD THAT NEEDS A SPOTTER”, required a crack team of super-strong men and women to erect it.
“Advertising in the UAE needed a lift, so we took that literally,” he said. “The result is the world’s heaviest billboard, built to celebrate strength in every form.
“It was a massive job. Thankfully no hernias were reported during the installation.”
GymNation Strongman Class: When & Where
This heavyweight advert was created to launch the new GymNation Strongman Class. Inspired by The World’s Strongest Man competition, the session is designed for those who “love to lift big”.
It includes classic Strongman staples like Deadlifts, Tyre Flips, Log Press, and the Farmer’s Walk.
This latest addition is yet another string to GymNation’s bow. The aspirational gym chain continues to lead the pack in the UAE’s fitness scene, offering top-level facilities, classes, and value for members.
The new GymNation Strongman Class will be held every Saturday at its Mirdif club from 10am.
It joins an already stacked schedule spanning an eclectic mix of disciplines such as HYROX, Muay Thai, Bollynation, Reformer Pilates, Yoga, and a selection of Les Mills offerings.
