Lace up your trainers and get stretching, because the Dubai Skyrun has been announced for November 12th.
The Skyrun is the only official stairclimbing race in Dubai and involves running up all 52 floors of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. That’s 1334 steps in case you were wondering!
The race is the only event in 2022 for the newly launched Staircliming World Championships and it’s taking place during the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2022.
It’s another brilliant demonstration of Dubai’s dedication to building its reputation as one of the healthiest and most vibrant cities in the world.
The race is open to 250 participants across three different categories – Elite, Open, and Teams. There will be prizes for the top three male and female runners from the individual categories, and for the top three teams (of four people) in the Teams category.
Whatever position the runners end up finishing in they can celebrate the fact that all the proceeds from the Skyrun are going to be donated to Al Jalila Foundation’s Majlis Al Amal. The community cancer drop-in centre is the first of its kind, dedicated to female cancer patients.
